Our Team

The Tolkien Society is dedicated to promoting the study of the life and works of J. R. R. Tolkien. The Society is managed by a CEO who works under a group of Trustees and with a team of Appointed Officers.

Staff

The staff of the Society are responsible for its operations, ensuring it complies with its legal requirements and meets its charitable objective. The CEO is appointed by, and accountable to, the Trustees of the Society, and works with them to set the key strategies and policies. The CEO is responsible for hiring other staff.

Trustees

Trustees are elected at the Annual General Meeting of The Tolkien Society each year. They are responsible for the good governance of the Society and ensure that the Society operates within the law and within the rules set out by the Charity Commission.
