A couple from Bolton, England have built a hobbit-hole in their garden for their children to play in. The den featured on the Channel 4 programme George Clark’s Amazing Spaces on Thursday 5th June.

Researchers at the University of Florida have discovered a new 16-foot long (5 metres) ancient crocodile in the Amazon. The creature has been named Anthracosuchus balrogus.

Today, Tolkien’s translation of the Old English epic poem Beowulf is published. Written in 1926, the book includes J.R.R. Tolkien’s original poem ‘Sellic Spell’.
