LEGO expert recreates the Lonely Mountain
Michal Kazmierczak is well-known in the LEGO fan community for his large recreations of film sets from Indiana Jones and the planet Mustafa from Star Wars. Now he’s turned his attention to The Hobbit.
Standing at over 5 feet tall, and having used 55,000 LEGO bricks, he has recreated the entrance of the Lonely Mountain from Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The build includes an invading orc army, two large dwarf statues, and the network of staircases on the inside. The entire build took him 7 months.

For comparison, LEGO’s largest set is Orthanc, which stands under 2 feet tall and has 2359 pieces.
