Empire Film Awards – The Hobbit

In the June 2014 edition of Empire magazine lists the winners of the 2014 Empire Awards. The ceremony was hosted by James Nesbitt (Bofur in the Hobbit films), and was held on Sunday March 30, 2014.

The relevant awards are:

  • Best Male Newcomer – Aidan Turner (Kíli, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug)
  • Best SciFi/FantasyThe Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Other categories in which The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was nominated are:

  • Best Supporting Actor – Richard Armitage (Thorin, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug)
  • Best Supporting Actress – Evangeline Lily (Tauriel, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug)
  • Best Actor – Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug)
  • Best Director – Peter Jackson (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug)
  • Best FilmThe Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
